Unlike virtually every other pest control company in Greater Vancouver, Spot On K9 Detection are single-minded in our approach. We offer bed bug inspection, with our detectors being specially trained dogs. We do not carry out treatments and we certainly do not use any other less reliable detection method.
Although an increasing number of pest control companies are hiring in sniffer dogs and their handlers for bed bug inspections, the reality is that they also offer cheaper, far less accurate bed bug ‘detection’ solutions such as monitors or traps.
Traps may catch some bed bugs, but they will not pinpoint their hiding location, monitors are even less reliable as no single bed bug may pass by and be caught.
Bed bug dogs will sniff out the precise location and notify their handler, then keep going until they are satisfied that there are no other areas with an infestation.

Several independent research studies have found canine bed bug inspection to be by far the most accurate method. It is not unusual for premises to have infestations in multiple locations. Conventional off-the-shelf detection products cannot pinpoint each infestation, even if they detect one at all.
It is therefore surprising that Canadian businesses and households waste millions of dollars each year on virtually useless ‘detection’ items such as monitors, traps and even human inspectors.
